What comes next?
To achieve accreditation to either ISO or the National Accreditation bodies you need to be able to identify which of your current management practices are already compliant, which needs a little tweeking and which require a major overhaul.
The process of obtaining accreditation can be formed from 3 steps.
Step 1 - GAP Analysis
The first step is to identify which of your current management practices already meet the standard(s) and which do not.
These are identified during a technique called 'GAP Analysis' which looks at your management practices and compares them to the requirements in the chosen standard(s)
Step 2 - Documentation
At this stage you edit your current documentation to fit the requirements of the chosen standard(s) and write new documents to cover those aspects of the standard(s) missing from your management system.
This is followed by a review of your revised managment system to ensure all aspects are covered
Step 3 - Audit Practice
Practice does't make perfect but it can make permanent.
Discuss with your staff the changes being made and the reason for the changes.
Perform audits/inspections of your staff in the working environment and make adjustments as and when required
